TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod

To maintain the financial records of the Synod and congregational benevolence. To assist in the ministry and program of the Synod.

Responsible for maintaining accurate and current financial data and financial reports using the accounting program. Generate monthly financial reports and other reports as required by Treasurer, Bishop, Assistant to the Bishop, and Auditors. Work with Synod staff and the Treasurer to develop the annual budget and monitor revenues and expenses against budget plan. Time Requirements: 15-20 hours per week.

Music Director (Pianist/Organist)
Christus Victor in League City, TX

Christus Victor Lutheran, an open and affirming congregation located in League City, Texas is searching for a part-time music director (pianist/organist). As the pianist/organist, the applicant will be responsible for providing leadership with hymns and liturgy for one service on Sunday morning, as well as evening services during Advent, Lent, Christmas Eve, and Holy Week.

Candidates should be able to confidently play a wide range of styles including liturgical music. The music director will conduct a choir of volunteer singers including one practice per week, preparing them to sing two anthems per month in worship. The music director will also assist with leadership of the praise choir, which leads the music in worship once per month, and support the volunteer led bell choir.

Director of Discipleship
Living Word in Katy, TX

Living Word seeks a Director of Discipleship who is responsible for developing, directing, and leading an overall church life-long faith formation strategy that aligns with the needs of the church and community and encompasses the overall spiritual health, growth, and development accounting for various ministries, growth stages, and affinity groups. The director will supervise an associate director of discipleship to help with their responsibilities.

The director is primarily responsible for:

  • Planning: Developing a comprehensive plan for life-long faith formation and coordinating with other ministries and the pastors.
  • Leadership: Identifying leaders (youth and adults) and encouraging them to share their gifts and faith through life- long faith formation ministry.
  • Training: Provide timely training, encouragement, and mentoring for leaders that will equip them for their role in life- long faith formation ministry.
  • Communication: Constantly developing and implementing ways to communicate about resources and ministry opportunities through website, online registration, brochures and social media.
