Houston MLK Unity Parade

- Date & Time: The parade is on Monday, January 19, 2026.
- Kickoff: The official parade kickoff is at 10:00 AM at Smith and McKinney Streets.
- Meeting Point: Participants are asked to meet at the corner of Crosby and Allen Parkway by 9:00 AM, but no later than 9:30 AM.
- Parking: Free parking is available at the Boys and Girls Club on Crosby St. (enter via W. Dallas as Allen Parkway will be closed).
- Meditation: A short meditation is typically held around 9:45 AM to remind the group of the event’s purpose.
- Supplies to Bring: Recommended items include a handheld loudspeaker for the meditation, signs, refreshments, and trash bags for cleanup.
- Giveaways: Suggest each church bring a bag or two of beads to throw.
- Attire: Participants are encouraged to wear church t-shirts, “God’s Work Our Hands” (yellow shirts) or BLM shirts.
