Previously the Brenham Mission Society, Town and Country Mission Society has focused its mission on financially supporting and advocating for mission and ministry in rural town and country areas of Texas and Louisiana.
Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest (LFSW) is a non profit organization that provides services to ELCA Lutheran congregations by offering ministry sustainability through building financial stewardship.
LFSW works in partnership with the ELCA Foundation. The services of a Gift Planner are provided by the organization within our synod.
We encourage you to get in touch with our Gift Planner, Dr. Liz Johnson, 713.775.1595.
The gift planner can meet with individuals to help put final wishes in writing to the best advantage of the donor and the ministry they wish to support. The consideration of end-of-life stewardship is a commitment to the future of Lutheran ministry.
Upbring – the new Lutheran Social Services of the South – steps forward with renewed vigor and focus, as they begin writing the next chapter in our agency’s 134-year-old history.
We all grow up but none of us gets to choose how. We don’t get to choose between a house filled with love or one with anger; parents who support us or ones who tear us down. We don’t get to choose how we are brought up in this world but we can choose how the next generation is. This is our mission – to break the cycle of child abuse by empowering children, families and communities. It’s not just about raising children in a safer environment. It’s about raising expectations for what a childhood should be. And it’s going to take all of us.
Their Mission, “To break the cycle of child abuse by empowering children, families and communities” focuses on improving long-term outcomes for all Texas children and reducing recidivism in child abuse by focusing on five key markers that we know will forge a path to a future free from abuse. This requires an entirely new way of thinking; and requires the whole community to be involved.
Mosaic in Southeast Texas partners with people with intellectual disabilities to provide a meaningful life in a caring community, giving a voice to their needs.
Mosaic helps people define their own happiness. They support them and empower the pursuit of their goals. They celebrate their successes, even if that success is as simple as the pursuit itself.

As it is, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you.”
