The Lutheran Church has a long tradition of carefully preparing rostered leaders for ministry. It all begins in our homes where faith is practiced, taught, and caught. It continues in our congregations through worship, Christian education, and faith formation. For those who sense God’s call to ministry the synod, our seminaries, and congregations work with candidates as they discern God’s call in their lives. It’s a process that can take 4-6 years beyond a 4-year college degree.

By the time a rostered leader accepts a call to serve a congregation, they have been well prepared academically and spiritually. This all begins your homes and congregations. We celebrate with our faithful leaders, who serve their Lord and our church in ministry.

Thank you for your partnership in preparing leaders for ministry.
